Level with a distance goal
For leveling in +1 Stone Skipping, use a short loop. Throw for bounces and Skill, follow the training instruction on your screen, watch the Level bar, and then see whether your stone travels farther. Training and levels support longer throws, but there is no fixed bounce count or distance gain to memorize. Check the results in your own server.
Your Level and its progress bar appear in the bottom HUD. An early tutorial can ask you to reach Level 20. If your banner shows another target, follow that one. The task on your current screen is more useful than a checklist built around someone else’s session.
Keep the counters separate
Skill, Level, distance, and Wins affect one another, but each tells you something different. Every bounce gives +1 Skill at the base rate. Training and leveling help your throws travel farther, and farther zones bring more Wins. If you only build Skill without doing the available training action, the Level goal can remain unfinished. If you aim for Wins before you can reach another zone, you will keep landing in the same place.

Test your progress after a few levels. Make three throws with the same stone and pets and note your usual distance. Train until the Level bar advances, then make another three throws. One unusually long result can be luck or timing; check the other two before treating it as your new normal.
Use the available training area
Skill multiplier pads sit in the play area. Some display rebirth requirements; the Shop has also shown premium Skill zones. Read the pad in front of your avatar and use one you can access. Its label does not guarantee a single formula for every bounce or level, especially if another boost is active.
When a tutorial banner is visible, finish the task it currently shows. Watch the Level bar while using the training interaction in your server. If the bar stays still, check whether the area is open to you or whether the tutorial is waiting for another action. A faster route shown by another player can depend on pets, potions, or purchases, so buying a premium pad is not an automatic fix.
Friend Boost and timed Skill boosts can change your displayed gains. You might see Friend Boost +0% in one session and +10% in another; check the value on your own HUD. The exact trigger is not clear from the label alone. For a fair speed comparison, note the boost state before both tests. If a timed bonus expires halfway through, the later gains can look slower even though your base setup is unchanged.
When to change equipment
The point of leveling is to reach a farther zone and throw that distance reliably. If your Level rises but your distance stalls, inspect your equipped stone and pets. Better stones and pet boosts are part of progression. Equip an improvement you already own and compare another set of throws. Before spending Wins on a stone or egg, read its current item card.
Treat Rebirth as its own decision. Its confirmation warns that Level and Skill reset and shows the multiplier for your next cycle. If you are close to a short level target, finish it before resetting. Otherwise, read the current panel, decide whether the bonus is worth rebuilding, and compare the new cycle only after you return to a similar level.
